There's our new front walkway, poured on Thursday. 

We stuck this bead in the concrete under the front steps--it says, "Melins Built This House--2005." 

There's the back patio! 

There are all of our hands in the back patio concrete. The stray beads say "Melin Family" and "July 2005." We lost Rich's, which made me really sad. 

That's Addie's hand in the concrete and a close up of the little glass beads we stuck in with notes under them. 

Yep, that's what you think it is! It's countertops, installed on JULY 16th, which is nothing like "the first week of June at the latest." But at least they are finally in!

This is hard to see, but it's the words to my kids' favorite lullabye, "Baby Mine" from Dumbo. Our back bedroom upstairs is going to be a "Baby room"--decorated with old family baby pictures--even if there is no baby sleeping in it.
