Happy birthday to you! And to me! I didn't get a trip to Europe this year (maybe 2010 to Scotland? I'm lobbying...) but I got a lovely shirt/blouse that Tom picked out all by himself and a BAT HOUSE. It's supposed to attract and hold up to 300 bats. And bats can eat 500 mosquitoes a night. (But it can take up to three years for them to move in. Boo.) I am very psyched for bats.
I'm so jealous, just the phrase.. the royal mile makes me remember it all. wasn't it wonderful! I want to go back right now. And I completely agree about their accents, it's nuts... if you speak the same language there ought to be a rule about being able to understand each other.
